IRAS PTY LTD is an Industrial Relations firm established in New South Wales since 1972.
IRAS PTY LTD was formed during a period when loose leaf services were virtually unheard of in Australia, the founder of IRAS as a youth started the first wages bulletin with the NSW Department of Industrial Relations.
Our family, McCarthy, have been looking after the industrial interests of employers long before the establishment of IRAS PTY LTD. Mr Herb McCarthy established McCarthy Associates Pty Ltd in 1951 and looked after the industrial interests of the Timber Industry, the Flour Industry and the Stockfeed Industry at both a Federal and State level in award negotiations and tribunal representation and eventually loose leaf publications.
The name IRAS still appears on publications that IRAS PTY LTD no longer has any affiliation with but from previous services to other organisations from many years ago the name has not been removed.
During Mr Herb McCarthy’s founding and ownership of McCarthy Associates Pty Ltd four of his sons became Industrial Relations Practitioners three still in practice today and the fourth practicing law.
In 1992 IRAS PTY LTD became totally independent opening its own office on the NSW Central Coast. It was at this time we began to increase the services we provided to our subscribers from more than a loose leaf publication subscription service but to a true Industrial Relations Advisory Service, IRAS. The loose leaf service grew in its content covering a greater number of areas of employment legislation as well as introducing a telephone advisory service on all employment related matters.
Our Industrial Relations professional is a Sydney University Graduate in Industrial Relations and Labour Relations and the Law with over 25 years of practical Industrial Relations experience, we also have Secretarial/Research Staff, a printer with more than 30 years of preparing Industrial Relations publications and casual labour when required.
As Employers and employees enter this new Federal era of Industrial Relations or are stll entrenched in the state systems we are confident that we can guide and assist our current sunscribers and any new subscribers with everything they require in dealing with there employment relations.
We try to keep everything as simple as possible from the most basic to the most complex and answer it in a manner that is easily understood.
